Mar Mac Farms is a fourth generation family farm southwest of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada

Growing up in the livestock business, Blair and Lois were active in 4H, Junior Hereford, Angus and Simmental programs and continued to build a cowherd of 200 breeding stock. Starting out in the Black Angus business is 1976, the Simmental where brought into the program in 1985, then the Red Angus programs was initiated. We feel these three programs compliment each other. Our two children, Brett and Melissa have grown up in the livestock industry being actively involved in the 4-H, Junior Angus and Simmental programs and the purebred industry.

Our goal is to produce predictable, functional cattle that work in the real world. Our cows are not pampered, they are put on swath grazing and hay until January, then they are expected to calve on their own and then
re-breed on a roughage ration or they are gone.

Embryo transplanting has been used extensively in our program using proven females that enhance the calf crop. Our herd sires are selected for performance, ease of fleshing, docility and structural soundness.

Mar Mac Farms is very actively involved in various livestock boards as they like to stay up to date in the livestock industry. We host our own bull sale annually on the farm in March and consign cattle in elite female sales across Canada. Along with our sales cattle are always for sale at the farm.
